Duolun Road is a quiet, 550-meter-long L-shaped pedestrian street in Shanghai's Hongkou District. Built in 1911 by the authorities of the Shanghai International Settlement and originally named Darroch Road, it was renamed in 1943. During the 1920s and 1930s, the street became a major center of Chinese literary and intellectual life. Prominent writers and thinkers, including Lu Xun, Mao Dun, and Guo Moruo, lived and gathered here, and the influential League of Left-Wing Writers was founded in this neighborhood in 1930.

The street functions as an open-air showcase of Republican-era architecture, featuring an eclectic mix of styles along a short walk. One of its most distinctive landmarks is the 1928 Hongde Hall, also known as the Fitch Memorial Church, a Christian church designed with traditional Chinese architectural elements including an upturned tiled roof and gray brick masonry. Other surviving structures include private mansions built in neoclassical and Islamic revival styles, alongside classic shikumen residential lanes such as Jingyun Li.

Today, life-size bronze statues of Republican-era cultural figures stand along the pavement, sharing the street with teahouses, cafes, art galleries, and small antique and curio shops. Visitors can also explore the Memorial Hall of the League of Left-Wing Writers, housed in a preserved three-story townhouse that commemorates the literary and political movements of 1930s Shanghai.
