The Bund Viewpoint

Chinese name
外滩-观景平台
This viewpoint sits on the elevated promenade along the Huangpu River, right where East Nanjing Road reaches the Bund. It serves as the main arrival point for visitors walking down Shanghai's central pedestrian street toward the water, opening up an immediate panoramic view directly across the river into Lujiazui.
Looking east across the Huangpu, the platform directly faces Pudong's prominent modern skyline, including the Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, and the 632-meter Shanghai Tower. Turning back toward the street reveals the historic colonial-era facades of the Bund, flanked right at the intersection by the green pyramidal roof of the Peace Hotel and the Bank of China building.
The promenade is open around the clock and is a short walk from East Nanjing Road metro station. In the evening, the viewpoint offers a clear sightline of both the illuminated Pudong skyscrapers across the water and the warm-lit European-style buildings along Zhongshan East 1st Road.
